Dear Friends,

We are pleased to invite you to the photo contest awards giving function and exhibition of priceless photographs on 'WATER' as the theme followed by the screening of documentary films, jointly organized by the media outreach program of Water Kerala Network, AVARD, Chalakudy River Protection Forum and Fotowide Magazine on the 21^st July 2007 at VYAPARA BHAVAN, Chalakkudy at 10.30 a.m.

Water Kerala Network is an initiative of organizations and individuals working in the field of water. For the past two years member organizations and individuals of the Network have been working on various issues and themes related to water i.e. river basin level studies, water for children program, wetlands, watershed programs etc. An All Kerala Photo competition with 'WATER' as theme was organized by the Network during December.2006 The entry of 196 photographs by 69 photographers received were scrutinized by a noted Jury consisting of Prof. K.G.Sankara Pillai , Kavitha Balakrishnan and Dr.Unnikrishnan.

The Photo Contest Award winners are, Johnson Chirayil, Photographer Madhayamam, ( First Prize), Mohammad Safi, Malappuram (Second Prize), and five Consolation Prize winners Sachariah Ponkunnam, Kottayam, Mohanan Eloor,Udyogamandal,Mohan Kizhakkumpurathu,Kodungallur, Ramachandran,

Neeleshwaram, and Sreekumar, Alapra, KeralaKaumadi

Screening of two documentary films by P.Balan, well known Documentary Film Maker will also be a part of the function. The exhibition will continue till 5 p.m.
