when everybody can weigh in on the 'positive deal' between america and india on the nuclear front, why should mohammed elbaradei, chief of the UN’s nuclear watchdog, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) be quiet.

i quote from the ibnlive interview "What I see there is a bipartisan support in Congress for the US-India deal. So even there is change of administration I will be surprised if there is lack of support for that deal because as I said it makes a lot of common sense. It will help India to lift millions of people out of poverty."

how so? how will the deal which potentially can bring 10's (perhaps 100's) of nuclear reactor lift india out of poverty (and perhaps forge india ahead to be a developed country. yeah right!!!).

when communities across coastal india are fighting pitched battles on top of flawed public hearings, fake eia companies touting false eia's, huge pollution due to thermal power plants, how come a nuclear power plants (that too projected to add just 10% or less to the national power at huge costs) will lift india out of poverty.

only the UN chief knows it. or perhaps was he tutored by one of india's 'development and growth' guru's?
